Both instructors are professors of applied statistics at the University of
Minnesota. Much of their research over the last two decades, and much of
their teaching, has been in the areas of regression and graphics. They have
jointly written over 25 works, including the textbook

this course and the 1982 monograph Residuals and Influence in
Regression. They are both fellows of the ASA.
